New leads created in Zoho CRM are copied to the project

Before you start

Zoho CRM Professional edition or higher (Free and Standard have no webhooks), and the Manage Workflow permission.

Set it up in Zoho CRM

Create a webhookIn Zoho CRM, open Setup › Automation › Actions › Webhooks and click Configure Webhook.

Paste the URLName it LeedsApp. Keep method POST, paste your LeedsApp lead URL in URL to Notify, and choose module Leads.

Add the lead fieldsIn Body, choose Form-Data and add User-Defined Parameters. Type the name on the left and the field on the right (type # to pick it, or type it as shown): name = ${Leads.First Name} ${Leads.Last Name}, phone = ${Leads.Mobile}, email = ${Leads.Email}, city = ${Leads.City}, lead_id = ${Leads.Lead Id}. Click Save.

Create a workflow ruleOpen Setup › Automation › Workflow Rules and click Create Rule. Module Leads, rule name Send to LeedsApp, click Next.

Run it on every new leadChoose A Record Action › Create and click Next. For the condition pick All records and click Next. Under Instant Actions pick Webhook, select LeedsApp, click Associate, then Save.

Test itCreate one test lead in Zoho CRM, for example Ravi Kumar, mobile +91 98765 43210, city Chennai. Check the lead in LeedsApp.

Lead source: Zoho CRM. Use the Mobile field, or Phone if your team fills that one. Zoho sends at most 10 CRM fields per webhook. The same Zoho lead sent twice is saved once.

If leads don't arrive

  • Check the workflow rule is active and set to Create on the Leads module.
  • Leads imported from a file may not run workflow rules; create one lead by hand to test.
  • Zoho tries a failed call once more after 15 minutes, then gives up.
  • Use the parameter names name, phone, email, city exactly, in lower case.
