Website chats and offline messages from Tawk.to arrive as leads in the project

Your Tawk.to lead URL

Your lead URL appears here when you open this page from the LeedsApp app: open the project, then Lead integrations and Tawk.to.

Set it up in Tawk.to

Open WebhooksLog in at dashboard.tawk.to on a computer, pick your property, open Administration in the left bar, then Settings › Webhooks.
2
Create the webhookClick Create Webhook. Name it LeedsApp and paste your LeedsApp lead URL as the endpoint.
3
Pick the eventsTick New Chat Transcript and New ticket. Leave Chat Start and Chat End off, so each chat makes one lead. Click Save.
4

What LeedsApp saves

Tawk.to sendsSaved on the lead asvisitor.name / requester.nameNamePhone number typed in the chatMobile numbervisitor.email / requester.emailEmailvisitor.cityCityChat messages / ticket messageNotes
Lead source: Tawk.to. Tawk.to sends no phone field, so LeedsApp picks the first mobile number the visitor typed in the chat. Chats with no name or no mobile number are not saved, so turn on the pre-chat form with Name. The same chat sent twice is saved once.

If leads don't arrive

  • Webhooks can only be set up on a computer, not in the Tawk.to phone app.
  • Transcripts are sent about 3 minutes after the chat goes quiet; wait before checking.
  • A chat is saved only when it has the visitor's name and a mobile number. Turn on the pre-chat form (Administration › Chat Widget › Pre-Chat Form) with Name required, and ask for the mobile number in the chat.
  • Each property has its own webhooks; add the URL to every website property.
