New Shopify customers are added to the project as leads

Your Shopify lead URL

Your lead URL appears here when you open this page from the LeedsApp app: open the project, then Lead integrations and Shopify.

Set it up in Shopify

1
Open WebhooksIn your Shopify admin go to Settings › Notifications and click Webhooks.
2
Create the webhookClick Create webhook. Set Event to Customer creation, Format to JSON, paste your LeedsApp URL in URL and keep the latest Webhook API version.
3
Save and testClick Save. To test, place a test order (or create a customer from Customers › Add customer) with a first name and a mobile number, and check the lead in the project. A newsletter sign-up has no mobile number, so it is skipped.

What LeedsApp saves

Lead source: Shopify. A customer is created by account sign-up, newsletter sign-up, checkout or Shopify Forms; only those with a name and a mobile number become leads. The theme contact form does not create a customer.

If leads don't arrive

  • Messages from the theme's Contact page only go to your email; they do not create a customer, so they do not reach LeedsApp.
  • Shopify customers created without a name or mobile number (newsletter box, most account sign-ups) are skipped. LeedsApp still replies OK, so Shopify keeps the webhook on. Turn on the phone field at checkout or on your sign-up form.
  • If Shopify ever deletes the webhook after repeated failures, open Settings › Notifications › Webhooks and add it again.
