Every missed call to your ExoPhone becomes a lead

Before you start

You need an Exotel account with an ExoPhone and a call flow in App Bazaar.

Your Exotel lead URL

Your lead URL appears here when you open this page from the LeedsApp app: open the project, then Lead integrations and Exotel.

Set it up in Exotel

1
Open App BazaarLog in at my.exotel.com and open App Bazaar from the left menu.
2
Edit your call flowFind the call flow your ExoPhone uses and click Edit. The flow opens on the call start page.
3
Add a Passthru for missed callsIn the Connect applet, open If nobody answers and drag a Passthru applet into it.
4
Paste the LeedsApp URLPaste the lead URL from this page into the Passthru's URL box. Tick Make Passthru Async so the caller is not kept waiting.
5
Also save answered callers (optional)To save callers you did answer too, add the same Passthru with the same URL under After call conversation ends.
6
Save and testClick Save on the flow. Call your ExoPhone from another phone and let it ring out. The caller shows in LeedsApp within a minute.

What LeedsApp saves

Exotel sendsSaved on the lead asCallFromMobile number(no name sent)Name: the caller's number until you rename the leadCallToNotes (your ExoPhone that was called)DialCallStatus / CallTypeNotes (missed or answered)
Lead source: Exotel. Exotel sends only the caller's number, no name or email. A number that calls many times is saved once; if it is already a lead, LeedsApp adds this project to it.

If leads don't arrive

  • Check the Passthru sits inside Connect > If nobody answers of the flow that is linked to your ExoPhone.
  • Make sure Make Passthru Async is ticked, or callers hear silence while Exotel waits for a reply.
  • Open Call Logs in Exotel to check the test call went through this flow.
